ISU World Figure Skating ChampionshipsAn Invitation to Tender
Skate Canada is accepting proposals from qualified individuals for the choreography and production of the on-ice opening ceremony for the 2006 ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Calgary, AB March 20-26, 2006.

Overview
The on-ice opening will be a 15 minute on-ice presentation to welcome the world to Canada and to the Championships through the use of a flag parade and elements uniquely Canadian, and in particular Western Canada.

The theme of the opening is a tribute to the skating career and life of Barbara Ann Scott. It should stress her connection to Calgary, to Canada and to the World.

Barbara Ann Scott was the Canadian, North American, European, World and Olympic Gold medalist in 1948 achieving a status that no other ladies figure skater has before or since that date. She is, to this day, the only Canadian woman to have won Olympic Gold. Barbara Ann skated in her very last competitive skating competition in Calgary at the Glencoe club.

She is serving as the Honorary Chair Person for the event, and will be in attendance.

Requirements
The opening should flow easily from the on-ice component to the official remarks which will be made by the ISU, the honourary chair and other dignitaries.

Written Tenders should be sent in confidence to the attention of:
