(January 28, 2008)

2008 Pair Champion Anabelle Langlois, from Gatineau, Qué., was elected “Personality of the week Radio-Canada/Le Droit” for the week of January 28, 2008. Le Droit and Radio-Canada are Gatineau’s daily French newspaper and radio and television stations respectively.

Le Droit and Radio-Canada started the “Personality of the week” concept three years ago. A personality of the Gatineau region is honoured every Monday for their accomplishments and journey. The 26-year-old skater was chosen for her victory at the 2008 BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships in Vancouver on January 19 where she was crowned Pair Champion with her partner Cody Hay, of Grande Prairie, Alta.

Anabelle and Cody have been skating together since May 2005. They won their first national medal, a bronze, at last year’s national championships and placed an impressive tenth in their first trip to the World Championships (2007). They are headed to Gothenburg, Sweden, to compete in the 2008 ISU World Figure Skating Championships, March 17-23.
