Always looking for opportunities to encourage individuals who are involved in the lives of our skaters, Skate Canada created a new initiative to find the ten best CanSkate coaches in Canada. This exciting and exclusive contest will provide the selected coaches with the opportunity to attend the 2008 Skate Canada ACGM and National Coaches’ Conference in Regina, Sask., next May.

To be nominated, CanSkate coaches:

  • Must be currently registered as a professional coach with Skate Canada
  • Must be a trained CanSkate coach or NCCP certified coach
  • Must have obtained a Continuous Education Program (CEP) status – gold or silver or bronze
  • Must be the primary CanSkate coach responsible for the on-ice and off-ice CanSkate program in your club or skating school
  • Must:
    • Have excellent communication and listening skills
    • Have excellent organizational skills
    • Organize and deliver the CanSkate program according to Skate Canada delivery standards (see nomination form for detailed information)
    • Promotes training and development for program assistants
    • Interact well with the skaters, coaches, program assistants and parents
