(November 13, 2009) – Skate Canada introduced Skate Bug at the 2008 HomeSense Skate Canada International and it was a hit! In-venue fans got to enjoy live commentary by former figure skaters and special guests. This year the bug is back with more special guests including certified technical specialists doing calls identifying jumps, spins and skating moves specifically for the Skate Bug listeners.
Skate Bug is an earpiece that members of the live audience can purchase on location. It is an interactive multimedia tool that fits perfectly in the ear and will output expert analysis live, providing commentary for the in-venue fan.
Skate Bug will be part of the skatebuzz network and will soon have even more interactive features for fans in-venue and at home to enjoy.
One of the interactive components to Skate Bug will allow fans to text their messages, questions and comments directly to the commentators and receive answers during the event.
For those fans who bought theirs last year make sure to remember to bring your bug! New fans can purchase the Skate Bug at the HomeSense Boutique located in The Aud for $20.00 plus applicable taxes.
