(April 2, 2009) – You may have noticed our new educational scoring series that we launched earlier this month (click here if you didn’t). The purpose was to bring our fans, old and new, up to speed on the new ISU Judging System in order to:
- Understand why skaters placed where they did
- See the integrity and transparency of the new system
- Be able to have more fun predicting scores
- Enhance the enjoyment of watching skating
We hope you enjoyed all of the skating our broadcast partner CBC televised and streamed through the web! It certainly was exciting and Canada proved that we are a force to be reckoned with.
Now it’s time for you to score us – did you enjoy the scoring series, did you visit the Scoring Skate Bag, do you have a better understanding of what was happening behind the Judges’ stand? We hope you did, but to make sure, please take five minutes to tell us what you learned, what you want to see more of, and what worked for you.
While we’re at it, we’ll also be asking you how you enjoyed Artistry on Ice, a blog written by CBC figure skating commentator PJ Kwong. A good friend to skating, PJ tells it like it is and provides insight from many perspectives.
How about the Daily Spin – did you check that out? The Spin is new to Skate Canada this season and gives you the behind-the-scenes peeks at events and let’s you know what is going in the Canadian skating world.
This has been a busy season, but we’re eager to keep bringing new things to our skating fans and members.
Thanks in advance for your time and we look forward to seeing how you will grade us……we’re hoping for straight A’s!
