Skate Canada announces partnership with Quixtar Canada Corporation
(May 24, 2007 - Ottawa, ON) - Skate Canada announced today that Quixtar Canada Corporation has become the newest member of its national sponsor family.
Under the sponsorship, which is a three-year contract that runs until 2010, Quixtar’s ARTISTRY® brand is designated the official skin care and cosmetics sponsor of Skate Canada events and the Skate Canada national team.
“Skate Canada is thrilled to have the opportunity to form a partnership with Quixtar Canada Corporation,” said Debbi Wilkes, Skate Canada Director of Marketing and Sponsorship. “Quixtar and its ARTISTRY® brand of cosmetics and skin care products is an excellent fit for Skate Canada, and we look forward to cultivating this partnership into the future.
“A few years ago, with the introduction of the new judging system, the skating term artistic impression was replaced. Now with Quixtar’s support, we’re putting more ‘Artistry’ back into the sport by showing our athletes and fans the benefits of using quality skin care products and cosmetics,” added Wilkes.
“All of us at Quixtar Canada are so proud that our ARTISTRY® brand will be affiliated with the talented young athletes at Skate Canada, as both represent the finest in beauty, grace, and individual style,” said Jim Hunking, General Manager, Quixtar Canada.
“We see a lot of parallels between our independent business owners and elite figure skaters,” added Hunking. “Both groups achieve success by setting goals, and combining that with hard work and dedication. We look forward to continued support of the Skate Canada program because we know the incredible possibilities that can be realized when you put your mind, body, and passion into a challenge – whether in sport or in business.”
