Weekend ticket packages for 2006 HomeSense Skate Canada International go on sale today

(September 20, 2006 - Ottawa, ON) - Weekend ticket packages for the 2006 HomeSense Skate Canada International go on sale today at 9:30 a.m. (PST).

The prestigious international event, which is the second of six stops on the International Skating Union (ISU) Grand Prix circuit, will be held Nov. 2-5 at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, B.C.

The weekend package, which is a new initiative for this event, includes admission to all events on Saturday, Nov. 4 (ladies free skate and men’s free skate) and Sunday, Nov. 5 (free dance and parade of champions). Weekend packages cost $95 for lower bowl seats and $75 for upper bowl seats, plus applicable surcharges.

The event promises to be a very exciting one, with more than 60 skaters from 17 countries competing for the HomeSense Skate Canada International titles in the ladies, men’s, pair and ice dance disciplines. Fans will have the opportunity to see some of the world’s best skaters, including two-time Canadian Champion and 2006 Olympic bronze medallist Jeff Buttle, two-time world champion and 2006 Olympic silver medallist Stephane Lambiel, of Switzerland, 2006 world silver medallist Fumie Suguri, of Japan, the Chinese pair team of Dan Zhang and Hao Zhang, who won both the Olympic and world silver medal in 2006, and four-time Canadian Ice Dance Champions and 2006 world silver medallists Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon.
