The Event

The 2007 HomeSense Skate Canada International will take place November 1-4, 2007 at the Colisée Pepsi in Quebec City. Fans can expect a strong competition in each of the four disciplines.

The event features three days of exciting competition in ladies and men’s singles, pairs and ice dance, as well as an exhibition gala. The competition will attract more than 40 world-class figure skating athletes from approximately 13 nations.

HomeSense Skate Canada International is the second of six competitions in the yearly International Skating Union’s (ISU) Grand Prix of Figure Skating series. The other events take place in the United States, China, France, Russia and Japan. Skaters are awarded points based on their placements in the series’ events. The top-six men and ladies and the top-six pair and ice dance teams qualify for the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, which will take place in Torino, Italy, December 13-16, 2007.

Prize money for the qualification events, including the 2007 HomeSense Skate Canada International, in US funds is $18,000 (1st); $13,000 (2nd); $9,000 (3rd); $3,000 (4th); and $2,000 (5th).
