February 11-14 in Calgary is where all the action for the 2009 BMO Canadian Junior Nationals will happen.  This is an exciting year for young Canadian skaters as the anticipation builds and the Olympic dream sits on the not-so-distant horizon.

This year, the Max Bell Centre will see over 250 competitors on the ice vying for positions on future Senior National teams and the chance to represent their country internationally.  This is the ninth year that this event will showcase the talent and hard work of the juvenile, pre-novice and novice skaters. 

Some of these skaters have had international experience on the ISU Junior Grand Prix circuit; for others, this is their maiden voyage in front of a large audience.  In either case, their performances are all delivered with toughness and passion, masked by performers’ smiles.

We are all in for a treat this year as these young skaters prepare artistic programs with risky elements.  Get ready to bring your loudest cheers, your strongest support and don’t be surprised if you end up sitting on the edge of your seat!
