OTTAWA, ON - Please note that the 2008 Tri America International Figure Skating Competition to be held in Mexico City from June 18-21, 2008 is not a properly sanctioned competition. It has not received a sanction from the ISU or from the FEDERACION MEXICANA DE PATINAJE SOBRE HIELO Y DEPORTES DE INVERNO, A.C. (Mexican skating federation). Skate Canada members are strongly advised not to participate in this competition as, unless appropriate sanctions are obtained by the organizers, participation will lead to loss of eligible status. Loss of eligible status in these circumstances is permanent and would preclude participation in Skate Canada and ISU events.
