(January 25, 2008)
Skate Canada is delighted with the news that CBC Sports and the International Skating Union (ISU) recently signed a two-year broadcast and multimedia agreement. The agreement includes the 2008 and the 2009 World Figure Skating Championships as well as the 2009 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships.
This agreement will enable Canadians to follow the best figure skaters in Canada, as they compete in the major events leading up to the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, being held in Vancouver.
This exciting agreement between CBC and the ISU will be set in motion Tuesday, March 18, with coverage of the 2008 ISU World Figure Skating Championships from Gothenburg, Sweden. The event will air on both CBC Television and CBC Country Canada (please see broadcast schedule below). In addition, figure skating fans can watch all the events unfold live, and on-demand at cbcsports.ca.
