Skate Canada is saddened by the loss of Anne Pleasance, a dedicated member of Skate Canada for 28 years, who was involved at the club, sectional and national level. Anne, who is survived by her two daughters, Kathrine and Karen, as well as her grandchildren, died peacefully on Friday, Nov. 18, at the age of 64. Anne became certified as a Canadian accountant in 1984 and a senior computer accountant in 1995. She had acted as the chief accountant at the national championships as well as Skate Canada International. As the Eastern Ontario Section chief accountants chair, Anne was actively involved in recruiting and training new accountants. She was also the championships chair for the Eastern Ontario Section. Anne was also involved nationally as the chair of the National Accountants Committee, and was honoured by Skate Canada in June of 2005 in being made a hononary accountant of Skate Canada. Originally from Winnipeg, Anne retired in Ottawa and was active at the Gloucester Skating Club and the March-Kanata Skating Club, and was also involved in synchronized skating with the Kanata Techniques.
