(May 19, 2004)

As the 2003-2004 season closed out, a few familiar faces announced that they were retiring from the team. Here's a quick update.

Six-time Canadian Champion Jennifer Robinson retired from competitive skating following her performance at the World Figure Skating Championships, but fans can see Jennifer in Calgary on June 4 when she hosts the 2004 Skate Canada Annual Awards Gala at the EPCOR Centre for the Performing Arts. For more information, visit the 2004 Annual Convention and General Meeting site.

Michelle Currie has also retired and is now pursuing a coaching career.

In ice dance, long-time national team member Josée Piché who, along with partner Pascal Denis, achieved a 17-year goal this year when they skated at the World Championships in Dortmund, also announced that she was hanging up her blades. Likewise, National Team member Tara Doherty, who skated with Tyler Myles, also decided to announce her retirement from competitive skating this year.

We wish all the best to these athletes in the future!
