Debbie MacMurdo, Skate Canada Vice Chair, was awarded the Amalgamated Dairies Ltd. Administrator of the Year Award at the 30th annual Sport P.E.I. Awards Banquet, which was held on April 21, 2004 in Charlottetown.

MacMurdo, of Charlottetown, has been involved in figure skating for many years and at all levels within Skate Canada. Her roles within the organization have included serving on the Skate Canada Board of Directors, serving as a Skate Canada Section Chair, acting as a judge, and traveling to various competitions as a team manager.

MacMurdo was honoured by the recognition.

“I am very honoured to have been nominated and to receive the award,” said MacMurdo. “I stay involved in sport because I feel that we all must make a contribution to society as we move through life; mine has been with sport. Volunteers are key to the success of our sport system and I am very happy to be one.”
