While Kostner was busy winning the first Junior Grand Prix and Senior international events of the season, Canadian athletes continued their successful streak with two more medals claimed in the small German town of Oberstdorf - home of the Nebelhorn Trophy. Finishing third in the Men's event was Fedor Andreev, who recently re-located to Detroit to train with Richard Callaghan, coach of former American and World champions Todd Eldredge and Tara Lipinsky. Making an impressive international debut were the new pair team of Valerie Marcoux and Craig Buntin, who won the Pair event in Germany. This new team of Paul Wirtz's will compete next at MasterCard Skate Canada International in Quebec City.
