Dubé and Tétrault Capture the Gold Medal at Junior Grand Prix in Chemnitz
(October 15, 2002)
It was a come-from-behind victory for Canadian pair Jessica Dubé and Samuel Tétrault at the ISU Junior Grand Prix event in Chemnitz, Germany, which took place Oct. 10-13, 2002. Dubé and Tétrault, who were in third-place following the short program, skated a strong long program, which included flawless side-by-side triple toe loops and double Axels, two triple throws and a triple twist, to finish first overall. The Canadians overtook second-place finishers, Maria Mukhortova and Pavel Lebedev of Russia, and bronze medallists Tiffany and Johnnie Stiegler of the United States. Dubé and Tétrault's victory in Chemnitz guarantees them a spot in the Junior Grand Prix Final, which will be held Dec. 12-15, 2002 in The Hague, Netherlands.
